Oblong brings POP to Mezzanine


Oblong Industries (11-D170) will showcase latest incarnations of the Mezzanine Series of dynamic collaboration solutions, that de- liver multiple streams of content, and multiple modes of simulta- neous control, to every meeting, every team, every space. Oblong’s latest solution for huddle rooms, the Mezzanine 200 Series, is described superior collaboration solution for complex and distrib- uted global organizations. Adding POP to the Mezzanine demonstrations this year is said to offer a new dynamic ‘Picture on Picture’ feature for visual collab- oration. In a connected work session, this ‘PoP’ innovation auto- mates the size and position of the video-conferencing feed so that collaborators always have the best content-sharing experience. “It’s magical when Mezzanine PoP automatically shrinks, moves, and expands the video conferencing window so you can focus on your shared content,” said David Kung, VP Product Strategy at Oblong. “Only Mezzanine is premised on a revolutionary spatial UI, making Picture on Picture only possible with Mezzanine.”

Mersive Technologies (14-N130) nnounced that it will launch a new cloud-based room monitoring and meeting analytics service at ISE 2018. Mersive will also unveil room scheduling, expanded language support and further new features to its Solstice Pod wire- less collaboration solution.

In addition to Solstice Kepler, Mesive’s latest 3.1 version of Sol- stice adds new features for meeting collaborators, including room scheduling via calendar integration, expanded in-product lan- guage support, a fully redesigned welcome screen and more. The room scheduling feature integrates with Microsoft Exchange and Office 365 to automatically maintain an updated room calendar and can support other 3rd party calendar systems via the Solstice OpenControl API.

Sharp (12-E76) will launch its first BIG PAD interactive display with a 4K LCD touch panel. The 70”,4K BIG PAD (PN-70TH5) adds to Sharp’s award-winning range of displays for sharing infor- mation in meetings and lessons and will be on sale from February 2018. Sharp’s newest BIG PAD makes it easy to view large amounts of detailed information, such as technical drawings, maps or spread- sheets. Special features support working with content at Ultra-HD resolution: 4K reading is supported by Sharp’s unique UV2A screen technology for high contrast and image clarity, and 4K writ- ing is supported by a range of features including palm rejection, so your palm doesn’t make marks on the screen when you are writing, and a modified pen with a 2-mm tip for precision. Half of Sharp’s ISE stand will be devoted to its broad range of interactive and non-interactive displays for meetings rooms. The range includes something for every type of usage, whether it’s looking at technical content, where precise writing and exception- al ease-of-use is critical (4K BIG PAD) or having a brainstorming meeting where easy annotation and sharing of content is what is needed (BIG PAD for huddle spaces).


Eight interactive displays will be on show including the 40” and 50” BIG PADs for huddle spaces, and the 70” BIG PAD with wire- less sharing capabilities for demanding applications. All Sharp BIG PAD displays offer a Pen-on-Paper experience, an instant and accurate writing feel close to using a real pen on writing paper. Sharp’s range of non-interactive professional displays include the versatile 70” PN-R which can be installed in portrait, land- scape, face-up and facing downwards and the full PN-Q range of high quality but cost-effective displays available up to ultra-large 90”, offering customers a greater choice over the best large format display for their space.


At ISE, Sharp will also preview its 8K ecosystem, including a demonstration of its new 8K professional camcorder and 8K dis- play. The 8C-B60A 8K (60p) professional camcorder, a world’s first, integrates capabilities for video shooting and recording, play- back, and line output. These devices form the basis for Sharp’s R&D work on an 8K ecosystem, and at ISE Sharp will be welcom- ing feedback from partners about potential AV business applica- tions.

The partnership with DisplayNote's Mosaic is officially being launched at ISE, promising in-and-out- of-room collaborative technology.
