Litton Enterprise wins Ridden Partbred Pony of the Year


Litton Enterprise, an 11 year old British Riding Pony gelding and 2016 HOYS Supreme Pony, made a winning return to the Horse of the Year Show, topping a high class field of ponies to take the Equissage Pulse Ridden Partbred Pony of the Year 2017.


Beautifully ridden by his young jockey Phoebe Price in an electric TopSpec Arena on the first day of the show, the pair didn’t put a foot wrong to claim the title ahead of another prolific winner Broadgrove Showman. Owned by Joanne and Darren Price, Litton Enterprise is produced by leading pony producer Julie Templeton. “After last year we just came back to enjoy it and didn’t expect to win”, said Julie. “He will now go home for his winter holiday before we start the shows again next year”. Special Home Produced Award For the second year Team Equissage also provided a special award for the highest placed home produced pony in the class


and for the second consecutive year this was won by Phoebe Rocks and Greenbarrow Mr D’Arcy. At 10 years old, the pony has been owned by the family for the last three years and is due to go to his new home this year. “We are so pleased to have won the home produced award again this year”, said Phoebe

Lisa Taylor is Equine SQP of the Year


The prestigious title of Virbac Equine SQP of the Year has been awarded to Lisa Taylor of Farr and Pursey Equine Veterinary Services in Aldbury, Hertfordshire.

Lisa works closely with the vets at Farr and Pursey to help with the day to day running of the practice. With a mobile weigh bridge at her disposal, Lisa provides advice on weight for both worming and nutritional requirements. Being a registered veterinary nurse and qualified SQP, Lisa is well placed to provide guidance on the correct approach to worming. Lisa was invited by Virbac to attend a gala night at Horse of the Year Show where she was presented with her prize from one of showings leading producers, Katie Jerram and Virbac’s Divisional Director Mr Fraser Hodgson. Lisa then joined the Virbac team for ringside


hospitality to enjoy the fabulous evening entertainment at Horse of the Year Show.


‘I can only think that our clients must like what I do and am a bit shocked, but really pleased to have won’ said Lisa. ‘Our clients will be really pleased. Lots ring and ask questions and I want to be able to inform and empower them so they know they are getting sound advice’.
