Well the winter nights are drawing in and soon the heating will be coming on...
Don’t forget that if you are low income and on tax credits, you can apply now through your energy supplier for a heating grant to take the heat from your energy bills in the spring. At East Dorset we also offer an energy club, to help you fi nd the best deal in energy costs.
In the next few months, I will be working with the affordable housing group to formulate a proposal for the Council to consider on how we can better serve low income families with their housing needs. As a council we are on target to ensure at least 38% of all new homes are affordable rented or low cost to buy, to help key workers and local families get a home they can afford. We will also be talking to social housing providers on how they can better serve their tenants. Paul, Derek and I will be supporting the British Legion again this year in the annual Remembrance Parade. It will start at 2pm at Central Avenue on Remembrance Sunday. Please support your veterans and cheer them on along the route, at the church service at St. Nicholas’ at 2.15pm and en route to the war memorial.
