held an education day at fellow member’s barn, Mary Louise Taylor.
Member Pam Kemp organized our event. We had a saddle fit- ter, Nutrena feed specialist, equine massage therapist and leg bandaging specialist. Our saddle fit-
ter, Laurie McDon- ald, brought
in
different saddles and explained the impor- tance of a proper fit for both horse and rider. Nutrena feed specialist, Kirk Chilson, went over different feeds and how they keep a horse’s topline at its optimum. Mary provided her horse for the massage demonstration and we all could see how much the horse en- joyed the massage. Casey McMehon explained what she was doing so we could see the benefits of massage for all horses. Our bandaging expert, Debra Sue Waters, is a nationally rated Pony Club tester and she demonstrated dif- ferent types of bandages: standing, support, emergency. It was a very pro- ductive day and all attended came away with a better understanding of saddle fitting, feed, massage and bandaging. Then of course we had a fabulous pot luck dinner. Next up is our Region 9 Championships and our ever popular camp! Join FWDC and learn more about the wonderful sport of dressage. WE welcome all levels of riders on all breeds of horses! w
