HOW DOES SHOWSEC ENSURE QUALITY DOOR SUPERVISORS?


No matter the scale, organising events has been consistently ranked among the most challenging professions. The pressure is on to deliver a safe and quality solution at the best price, and hiring door security is no exception.

Firstly, the recruitment process includes rigorous checks and assessments to ensure new recruits are of the necessary calibre. Staff are then trained in areas including health and safety and counter- terrorism, to the standards required by law and company policy, before they start work.


Staff also have access to further development, including more than 30 additional modules and courses, delivered either online or in a classroom environment. Door supervisor work requires a Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence, which in turn requires a minimum Level 2 security qualification – one of our most popular training courses. Managers are trained to degree level in Crowd Management, while Supervisors and Heads of Security undertake specific training for their responsibilities.


On top of this, our staff gain a uniquely broad experience base working with different demographics in different settings. Far from being limited to positions on nightclub doors, door supervisors typically work at anything from corporate events to Christmas markets. Festivals provide plenty of work every summer, while sporting events and concerts are held at clubs, arenas and stadiums all year round.
