Name: Graeme Piper Company: DropCapCopy Job Title: Copywriter and content writer

Tell us a bit about yourself and your career? I’ve always been surrounded by words throughout my career. Starting off as a litho printer, moving into graphic design and finally, making the shift across to copywriting. Working in a marketing team for ten years also taught me a lot about the way in which businesses need to interact with their customers and how they engage and connect with them. And at the heart of all that is good copy!

Who are DropCapCopy? DropCapCopy is the business name for me as a freelance copywriter and content writer. I set up three years ago and ran it alongside my full-time marketing role before going it alone last year. As well as working for clients across the South West, I also work with digital, web and marketing agencies. And I take on a mixed bag of copywriting including online web pages and content marketing as well as writing for print, such as brochures and editorial. Being a freelance copywriter is a great opportunity to help businesses in every sector have the best content they can for both web and print.

How can DropCapCopy benefit other businesses? Good copy says the right things, in the right way and gives your business authority. Whether you need well written words for web or print, the results from DropCapCopy will be a set of copy that’s specific, unique and works for you - all written in a clear, effective and persuasive way. Also, if any business writes their copy in-house, but you need to get more out of it, I can provide some informal training that gives hints, tips and methods to help you.

this event to raise the profile of Devon as an important economic centre for the country.” This year’s show saw exhibitors from

Demonstrating the popularity of Devon Business Show over a 1,000 visitors flocked to the Pavilions to take part in the day of activity and engagement with other businesses and taking full advantage of the unique networking opportunity offers. Mark Collins, Head of Commercial and

Marketing at Plymouth Citybus said: “Plymouth Citybus are extremely excited to have been lead sponsor for this year’s

Devon Business Show. Building relationships and partnerships are both in our core values, so what better way to show this than leading the way and being headline sponsor at the South West's largest business show.” Devon Chamber of Commerce has announced that Devon Business Show will return to Plymouth Pavilions on Wednesday 13 June 2018. Expressions of interest for exhibiting at next year’s show have already been received, demonstrating the appetite that local businesses have for this event.
