AGM looks back on the Chamber’s success


Devon Chamber of Commerce’s 2017 Annual General Meeting was held at the National Marine Aquarium on Monday 26 June. It was addressed by Chairman, Richard Stevens (pictured) who reported that the last year has been reasonably successful. The Chamber had returned


a small operating surplus in the financial year 2015-2016 and it was hoped that this would be achieved again in 2016-2017. Membership had increased over the year but there was a concern that too many members were leaving the Chamber and this will be addressed in the coming year. Much time has been spent in building

Richard thanked Patrons, Members, fellow members of the Board and staff for their support. The accounts, which had been audited by Bishop Fleming, were approved and the auditors were reappointed. The results of the elections to the Board were confirmed, there were re- elections of Dave Young, Donna Barnes, Tim Jones and David Williams and the election of two new members Lesley Shorrocks and
