Super Elite™ all-concrete fingers, designed with a 600 mm freeboard, ideal for larger vessels and superyachts.” He added, “The custom-made
heavy duty gangway has been purpose-built to accommodate access machinery such as forklifts and small vehicles. The gangway’s innovative design allows an increased flexibility for on-site marine trades to carry out on- water refit works or the loading of supplies. The facilities also have provision for on-water storage pods to be added at a later date”. Steve Sammes, General Manager
of GCCM, said they had worked with Superior Jetties on a number of projects over the years and were delighted to be collaborating again during this expansion. “We are
all about Gold Coast businesses helping Gold Coast businesses and this project is one such example. Our superyacht berths will offer easy access and cater for vessels over the marina’s 250 tonne lift limitation.” Colin Bransgrove, Executive
Officer of the Marina Industries Association, also commented on the project, saying that the Association fully supports projects that enhance marine industry growth. “With a growing need to accommodate larger vessels comes a demand for associated quality berthing. The development of the superyacht facility at the GCCM site brings many positives, with the development fuelling local industries, contractors and boosting the Gold Coast’s economy.”
56 m in length, were designed using the Walcon Advantage Series Boardwalk Modular System sitting on top of the company’s well- engineered FRP leg structures. Walcon also included lighting in the kick rails, as well as realigning the approach paths to suit the original decking levels. The complete boardwalk,
including the leg system, was fabricated off-site in Walcon’s quality-controlled factory, shipped to site and then manhandled into place. Such is the design of the Advantage Series that it eliminates the need for on-site fabrication, heavy plant and equipment, and is very eco-friendly. The clients chose the FRP colour,
which blends in beautifully with the surrounding environment, but the Advantage Series Boardwalk Moldular System is available in a wide range of shades. Walcon Marine Australasia Pty Ltd
