Andrea Fappani Claims NRBC OPEN Championship on Chic Dreamin

In the National Reining Breeders Classic’s

historic twentieth year, the world’s most elite reiners battled it out for the coveted NRBC Open Champion Title. Andrea Fappani and Chic Dreamin scored 229 to win the champi- onship and the $75,000 check. The 5-year-old stallion by Magnum Chic Dream out of Skeets Red Dunit is owned by Silver Spurs Equine. This win made Andrea Fappani a four-

time NRBC Open Champion joining ranks with Shawn Flarida, and closely approaching Dell Hendricks’s five-time NRBC champion status. Fappani has earned over $970,000 at NRBC making him the second highest money earning rider at the show. Fappani said, “It never gets old to win

anywhere, but especially here. It’s a special place. I have a special place in my heart, be- cause this is where I marked a 236, which is still today the highest in NRHA history, so it’s a great place where you can really showcase your horse.” Fappani first laid eyes on the stallion two

years ago and had a strong feeling about him. When Chic Dreamin came up for sale last year at the Derby, he talked to Michael and Michelle Miola of Silver Spur Inc. who have support- ed his program in the past. They understood how strongly Fappani felt about the horse, and agreed to purchase him - sight unseen. Brian Bell and Dany Tremblay tied for

the Reserve Open Championship, each scoring 225.5. Brian Bell rode Turn Down For What (Einstein’s Revolution x My Way Maria), owned by Crews Reining Horses. Tremblay rode Adh Mor Big Luck Ranch’s PS Mega Shine Chic (Shine Chic Shine x Megas Sugar

the Intermediate Open Champion- ship aboard PS Mega Shine Chic, worth $20,589. Abby Lengal claimed both

the Reserve Intermediate Open and the Limited Open Champi- onship titles aboard ARC Gunna Mark Ya (Gunnatrashya x Shiney Miss Marker), owned by Jody Puno. Her 223.5 score was good for a paycheck of $12,532 in the Intermediate, and $8,127 in the Limited. Dan Huss was the Reserve Limited Open Champion riding Chics Dream (Magnum Chic Dream x First Ex Flame) to score a 219.5. The pair earned $4,947 for owner Morris Kulmer. The Level 1 Open Champions were Ale-

jandro Ortiz Vazquez and Barak Gibori. Ale- jandro Ortiz Vazquez rode She Is A Chexinic (Smart Like Juice x Muskegs Chexinic) owned by Smart Like Juice, Inc. Barak Gibori rode Pearl Haggard (Hollywoodstinseltown x Gun- ners Pearl) owned by David J. Silva, Sr. Each scored 217.5 and earned $2,457. In the Developing Horse Division, Casey

Hinton won the title on Guaranteed A Magnum with a score of 219. Casey and Kathy Hinton own the 4-year-old stallion, which is by Mag-

omino mare with a remarkably long, flowing mane, carried 19-year-old Jack Medows to win the Non Pro Classic Championship. Chicsdreamofdiamonds is by Magnum
