National Collegiate Equestrian Associa-


tion’s National Advisory Board recently ap- pointed 2 new members to help with the mission of elevating and advancing equestrian to the most sustainable and strongest of all NCHA women’s sports. Liz Cordia and Dr. Jim Heird both join the Board. Both are strong believers in NCEA and bring to the Board much knowledge and experience.


Ashley Thomas, Springtown, was recently


announced NCHA’s Youth Coordinator. She will work with NYCHA membership and the Youth Committee to develop, implement, and evaluate activities and programs for youth in the cutting community. She is a past NCHA- certified secretary and videographer, with a background in media marketing and office ad- ministration.

South Texas Horse Show Series hosted


its second show of the year April 22 at Sinton’s San Patricio County Fairgrounds. Teamwon the American Stock Horse Associ- ation D-II National Championship April 22 in Sweetwater. The group posted a strong victory against schools from Tennessee, Texas, and Wyoming, and led the second-place team 230 points to 202!


NM Paint Horse Club’s April 22-23


Spring Salsa Show, held at Expo New Mexico in Albuquerque, offered Paint, Pinto, 4-H, and All-Breed classes. High-point Paint winners were Brittany Sontag (Nov-Am/Millenium As- sets) and Judy Parson (Am & Open/Pistol Packin Picasso), while All-Breed high-points went to Christy Harding (Am-WT/JS Mag- nums Blu Shadow), Suella Boyd (Am & Open/Special Invitation), and Mariah Montoya (Open-WT/Zippos Lacy Pine).
