the $30,000 check and a plethora of other prizes. It doesn’t sound like Medows plans to use his bragging rights, however, as he gives credit to others. “My hat’s off to the mare and
Fernando Salgado for helping me prepare,” Medows said. “All three of us really work as a good team. All week [Chicsdreamofdiamonds] has been real steady, really good-mind- ed. I asked for more today, and she really stepped up and gave me her heart.”
Jack Medows & Chicsdreamofdiamonds Medows has had a lot of success with the mare having won the 2016 National Rein-
ing Horse Association Non Pro Futurity championship along with other big wins, but Me- dows says the $30,000 NRBC win is special. “Between the prelims and here she really stepped up her turns. She’s a really good turner, but for some reason she goes in the show pen and she’s so relaxed that she almost dulls up a little bit, but today she really sparked in her turns, and when I loped her off she was so slow and so collected it was a really cool feeling,” Medows said. “[The win here at the NRBC] is so special and she deserves it, she’s such a good mare. I’m glad I stayed out of her way and let her do it.” Cade McCutcheon of Tioga, Texas slid into a close Reserve Non Pro Championship,
scoring a 223 on Custom Made Gun. Custom Made Gun is by Colonels Smokin Gun and out of Custom Made Dunit. The 16-year-old earned $15,750 for the win. The Intermediate Non Pro Champions were Tish Fappani and Spooks N Jewels
SOOTHING GEL
(Smart Spook x Whiz Jewels) with a score of 220. They earned the $8400 check for the win. Fappani said that she just showed the four-year-old to his abilities at this show, and he felt really solid. Both The Reserve Champion Intermediate Non Pro and the Champion Limited Non
Pro titles went to Veronica Williams of Aubrey, Texas mounted on Singing In The Rein (Master Snapper x Shiners Mistress). Williams pocketed $5,150 for Reserve Intermediate Non Pro and $4000 for the Limited Non Pro Championship. Nancy Murfin-Moxley showing Who Whiz Hot Chocolat (Who Whiz It x Chocolat
Almond Chic) for the very first time claimed both the Reserve Champion Limited Non Pro title and the Champion Level 1 Non Pro title. The duo scored a 216 and pocketed $4052 for the wins. The future looks bright for them! Jose Vazquez claimed the Non Pro Prime Time Championship riding Like Shiner,
