THEMED B R EAK S R E V I EW - THE B E L F R Y HOT E L & R E SOR T Themed Breaks at
The Belfry Hotel & Resort is ideal for Seasonal or Themed Breaks, nestled in over 500 acres of idyllic countryside, yet still just 20 minutes from Birmingham city centre and 10 minutes from Birmingham International Airport
Following an extensive and thoughtful refurbishment, The Belfry makes for a perfect base for all family members and leisure seekers, including our 10 year-old who received particular attention from the receptionist who explained that there were hidden Golden Easter Eggs throughout the resort for our Easter break - whilst highlighting all the facilities to us! This was shaping up to be a fabulous getaway, maps in hand, and a child’s map for Katie – which she studied in-depth, we were shown to our family room. Making our way there, we could see where the £26million has been spent, it’s opulent and oozes sophistication and style at every turn.
FAMILY ROOM:
The style continues in the family room that delivered all the space you could need to relax in style. We entered the master room via the main door there was a sumptuous double sized bed a huge dressing area, occasional chair and table. Katie entered her room via a connecting door and as she entered there were screams of joy – the room had 2 single beds and placed on one was a fluffy squirrel to snuggle up with during the night and a chocolate Easter bunny to munch on, what a lovely touch. The bathroom was sleek with beautiful tiling a powerful shower and luxurious toiletries from the Espa range which is available to purchase from The Spa. There were 2 plasma screens one in each room and a selection of fine teas and coffees, handmade chocolates a bottle of red wine and magazines – Easter break essentials!
Our first experience was afternoon tea in the iconic Brabazon Bar, right at the heart of the hotel, it’s the place to meet and mingle. The bar itself creates a dazzling first impression with its brushed steel top and emerald green colour scheme. Above it, a central glass dome floods the space with light during the day and is creatively lit during the evening, while the mirrors and polished pewter reflect the ever-changing shades around the interior. Comfy seating and a menu boasting a vast selection of fresh leaf tea or coffee… or add a glass of champagne or prosecco for the ultimate treat, accompanies a delightful afternoon tea which consisted of a range of finger sandwiches, home-made malt loaf and home-baked scones which were accompanied by tea breads and sweet pastries – we tried our hardest to finish all that was presented but were defeated so our waiter kindly packed the left over goodies into lovely take home boxes. Just £24.95 Monday-Thursday or £28.50 Friday-Sunday. Afternoon Tea is served daily from 12pm-4pm, but booking 24 hours in advance is essential.
If afternoon tea isn’t your thing, make your way to Sams Club House, it’s the perfect place to take lunch with amazing views over the greens. Tuck into one of their famous double-stacked burgers, popcorn chicken sharers, or a simple classic from the light bites menu. Enormous screens allow you to catch up on all the sport you could hope for, or you can watch as the golf unfolds on the greens. During the summer months you can dine outside on the terrace and warm weary limbs alongside the fabulous glass fire pit. Afternoon tea finished, Katie was eager to start her search for the Golden Easter Eggs! We decided the Woodland Walk would be a great after lunch activity and a potential hiding place for them…
