My friends and I were recently invited to a Bentley Ladies Experience Day. The thoughtful invite detailed a fabulous schedule for the day featuring a mixture of driving, cooking and pampering, the highlight of which was driving the Bentayga – quite simply a motoring experience unlike any other.


Centred around Daylesford Farm in the Cotswolds, the day commenced with coffee, croissants and a warm welcome from both the Bentley and Daylesford teams, followed by chit-chat amongst us like-minded women, several of whom I knew in addition to my guests.

From owners of fine jewellery companies to leading business women, we all shared a passion for the brand and cars, as well as a wonderful sense of humour.


The Bentyga drive was our first experience of the day and is the ultimate in luxury. The interior sets the benchmark in refinement, blending the Bentley heritage with all the modern technology that could ever be expected of a car. Cossetted by the luxurious leather seats, the drive itself was smooth, yet exhilarating when you put your foot down, but most all I was shocked to find that what I was driving was indeed a diesel!


Following on with the concept that Bentley is a lifestyle choice, it was quite fitting that one of the options on the Bentayga is an ‘Event Seat’ in the boot that folds out to create a comfortable leather seat that overhangs the car and is just perfect for watching the polo – I should borrow this for my Ladies Day this year! We all loved the vehicle and one of my guests, who enjoys her own enviable stable of cars, was going to speak to her husband about buying one she enjoyed the drive so much – in fact you don’t drive the car, the car takes you on a journey…a luxurious one at that.


Included in the day was a session at the Daylesford Cookery School, which for me, who set fire to my hair in the kitchen and is known for burning water, seemed a little daunting, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. The fun that we had paired up in twos at our cooking stations following what was a wonderfully presented master
