en’s Health Week 2017 will run from 12th-18th June. The aim of the week is to heighten the awareness


of preventable health problems and encourage early detection and treatment of disease among men and boys. It’s a frightening statistic: one man in


fi ve dies before the age of 65. Recognising and preventing men’s


health problems is not just a man’s issue. Because of its impact on wives, mothers,


daughters and sisters, it is also a family issue.


This year the week is focusing on belly fat. Why? Because it’s the type of fat that’s bad for your health and men are more likely to have it. It’s a problem because belly fat lurks not just beneath the surface but also gets down deep and surrounds your vital organs. Regardless of your overall weight, a large amount of belly fat increases your risk of:

11th-17th June 2017 is National Diabetes Week The theme for Diabetes Week 2017 is Know Diabetes. Fight Diabetes. There are currently 4.5 million people in the UK living with the condition, and 11.9 million more at increased risk of getting Type 2 diabetes.
