How To Be Legendary This Year
This is your year! If you want something different in your life and career, do things differently.
BY PAULA COMFORT Y
ou started off the year think- ing this is going to be your best year yet! However, you are now three months into 2017
and nothing has changed. It is time to take action. Ask yourself this question: “Where do I see myself one year from now?”
Here are 7 steps for 2017 that will
help make you legendary. 1. Get up earlier. Whether the
alarm goes off at 5am or 6am – get up! If you snooze you lose! How you wake up each day and your morning routine (or lack thereof) dramatically affects your levels of success in every single area of your life. Mornings that are fo- cused, productive and successful gen- erate focused, productive and success- ful days.
2. Plan your week. On every single
Sunday, sit down and create a blue- print for your week. Schedule only ac- tivities, including exercise, that will bring you the biggest payoff in results.
3. Put it on paper. You must have
your goals in writing. They don’t have to be perfectly articulated, however,

anything new.” ~Albert Einstein

self for 60 minutes every day. Read industry articles. Listen to podcasts. Journal about your learning. Hire a coach or a mentor. Subscribe to leader- ship blogs.
6. Ask for feedback. If your club
doesn’t perform annual performance appraisals, ask for one. Meet with your manager often to get feedback. Know
you should have a vision and some longer term goals in place.
4. Over-deliver. If, for example, your
boss asks you to research a new social media opportunity, don’t just send her an email with random thoughts. Go the extra mile and create a PowerPoint. Use your resources to blow her away.
what you need to improve, and then work hard to do this.
7. Reflect. Take time every day to re-
view your performance and activities and to be grateful. Reassess, redirect and rejoice in your wins.
Do all 7 of these steps and remark- able things will happen.
