Workshops galore at Library


ALVECHURCH LIBRARY launches a brand new Young Teens Book Club (aimed at age 12+) on Sat Feb 4 from 10.30–11.30am. It will meet on the 1st Sat each month to share experiences on their latest reads and borrow new titles for free. Ask Sarah for more information.


l Worcestershire County Libraries has a new e-book and audio book service – the BorrowBox digital library App is available to all library members FREE of charge. Alvechurch Library hosts a launch event on Thurs Feb 2 from 3–4pm, when you can learn how to download the app to your device, bor- row e-books and audio files and browse the e-catalogue.


l The Adults Creative Writing course has been delayed in order to recruit two more participants. Please get in touch if you would like to join. Initially running for five weeks on Sat mornings with 10 hours of tuition – cost £36.


l Palmistry for Beginners: Learn the basics, and how to read another group member’s hand. This is a four-hour course spread over two weeks: Fridays March 3 and 10, from 2.15–4.15pm – cost £25.


l Introduction to Colour and Angels: Fri March 24, from 2.15–4.15pm, cost £15. Topics include Who are the angels and how close are they to you?; How to invite them into your life and strengthen

l Spanish for Beginners: There are a few spaces available in Patrick’s new course, aimed at learners with no prior knowledge. It will equip students with phrases and vocabulary needed in daily situations: greetings, socialising, order- ing food and drinks. Starts Thurs Feb 23, from 2.15–4.15pm, running initially for five weeks. Costs £50. Patrick is always happy to chat to anybody who has fur- ther questions – call 077080 27372.
