portation department at Clark County School District in Las Vegas was able to fix two problem areas. Director of Fleet Services Paul Shelley explained that the bus radios had been updated from
analog to digital in 2015, but several outlying areas were still out of range. Drivers in these areas had to communicate with the bus garage by relaying messages via other nearby drivers. Te process of adding Voice Over Internet Protocol for these areas began in 2016, and now dispatchers can successfully communicate directly with drivers servicing these areas. Te district also chose a new fuel monitoring system, FuelMaster, and installed it throughout the district over the past year. Shelley re- ported that it is working well in tracking and monitoring fuel usage. Having efficient operations also requires reassessing and adapting when applicable.
