SEYCHELLES TO CAP VISITORS


The Seychelles plans to introduce a cap on visitor numbers next year as it looks to build on its sustainable reputation. The government is mulling over a


figure for the cap, but tourism minister Alain St Ange said it would be higher than the 300,000 travellers expected to visit this year. A decision is expected in the

KARL LAGERFELD UNVEILS LUXURY HOTELS BRAND


Fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld is to launch a hotel brand. The 83-year-old’s first six-star property will open in Macau next year. It is likely to be the first in a series of hotels under the Karl Lagerfeld Hotels & Resorts brand, with other locations being assessed. The brand has been set up


following a long-term licensing agreement between the Karl Lagerfeld Group and Brandmark Collective BV. Pier Paolo Righi, chief executive and president of Karl Lagerfeld, said: “Expanding our brand into the hospitality sector reflects our greater vision to broaden Karl Lagerfeld’s

HURAWALHI IS A GLASS ACT


The world’s largest all-glass undersea restaurant has opened at the Hurawalhi Island Resort, in the Maldives. Located 20 feet below the surface, it is one of three dining options. The 90-villa adult-only hotel, which is 40 minutes from Male, opened on December 1. Hurawalhi is teaming up with Manta Trust to offer in- house Padi instructors to provide guided dives. The property also offers beach volleyball, deep-sea fishing, paragliding,
