THE CONNECTIONS LUXURY SERIES GOES FROM STRENGTH TO STRENGTH WITH UPCOMING EVENTS IN THAILAND AND BRAZIL, WHILE CONNECTIONS WELLBEING IS SET TO LAUNCH IN ICELAND NEXT YEAR


CONNECTIONS LUXURY 2016


THAILAND: Connections Luxury Phuket was welcoming buyers and suppliers to the Dream Phuket Hotel & Spa (pictured) from June 19-22 as this issue of Aspire went to press. Delegates enjoyed one-on-one networking while mixing cocktails, receiving foot massages and having Muay Thai boxing lessons, among other activities. Guest speakers included online presenter, meditation coach and strategist Jay Shetty, who offers inspirational advice on how to be human in the digital age. Connections Luxury Phuket was supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand.


BRAZIL: Connections Luxury Rio de Janeiro will take place on October 16-19 at the Grand Hyatt Rio de Janeiro, set along the sandy stretch of Barra da Tijuca. Luxury travel buyers and suppliers are invited to try their hand at some authentic Brazilian activities, such as capoeira and samba dancing, enjoy the staggering views from atop Sugarloaf Mountain, and taste succulent meat from a traditional churrascaria barbecue – all while forging new business partnerships.


CONNECTIONS TO ADD WELLBEING EVENT


CONNECTIONS WELLBEING will launch next year. Connections’ first event for the wellness sector will be held at Iceland’s Blue Lagoon in its new five-star property (also opening next year) on September 10- 13, 2017. “We have recognised the growing importance of wellbeing in our high- net-worth clients and the value this can add to an agent’s itinerary,” says Micaela Giacobbe, director of Connections Events. Connections is working with


Stella Photi, founder of Wellbeing Escapes to put together the first Connections Wellbeing by creating an event to educate buyers about the sector and the value it offers their businesses.
