ANASSA, THANOS HOTELS Polis Chrysochous, Cyprus
An hour’s scenic drive from Paphos airport, Anassa has a sublime location on northwest Cyprus’s Akamas peninsula. Travel by boat beyond the pine-clad cliff and you reach the crystal waters of the blue lagoon that’s as calm as a swimming pool. Think picture-perfect scenes at every turn. Anassa has recreated the feel of a traditional Cypriot village with villas and low-rise maisonettes, all decked out in white-washed walls and blue shutters. There’s even a village square with a Byantzine chapel set amid olive trees and bougainvillea.
