Centennial honors 100 years of shar- ing America’s special places and helping Americans make meaningful connections to nature, history and culture by hosting several events throughout the year. On April 16, Junior Ranger Day will be celebrated and a Bioblitz and Kids to Parks Day event will be held on May 21at the Channel Islands National Park Robert J. Lagomarsino Visitor Center. On Aug. 25, Channel Islands National Park will host a special event in Ventura Harbor Village to celebrate the official 100th birthday of the National Park Service. This event will feature an outdoor screening of the new documentary, “West of the West: Tales from California’s Channel Islands,” with live entertainment and food trucks. The park’s From Shore to Sea centennial lecture series has been extended to feature special speakers the second Thursday of every month, January through December. Channel Islands National Park hosts kids-themed days in spring
VENTURA —The public is invited to help celebrate the National Park Service’s Centennial at various events scheduled through- out the year, including Junior Ranger Day sched- uled for April 16 and Kids to Park Day on May 21. Channel Islands
National Park will host Junior Ranger Day on April 16. The day is a time for youngsters to participate in junior ranger activities such as tide pool talks and pinniped programs. On May 21, kids once again can enjoy a day at
