Spirit of Pride Award The Spirit of Pride Award
The Spirit of Pride Award is presented to individuals who enhance the quality of life in the region by raising awareness to advance equality, promote diversity or celebrate the strength or talent of the LGBT community.
Janet Malachowsky Janet Malachowsky will be recognized with the Spirit of Pride Award for
advancing equality, promoting diversity and celebrating the strength and talent of the LGBT community.
Malachowsky is very active in the community and recently completed
a term as the president of the Desert Business Association (DBA). Her election to the DBA board in 2013 marked the end of a ten year period of men holding the president’s title. She originally joined as a board member charged with recruiting more women and lesbians into the traditionally male organization.
Janet is guided by three tenets that are important to her, community, inclusion and diversity.

She’s a member of several organizations including the Leadership Coachella Valley Class of 2016, Desert Estate Planning Council, the Desert Business Association, the Desert Valley Builders Association, and an affiliate member of the Palm Springs Regional Association of Realtors. She also finds time to be involved with the Coachella Valley Economic Partnership’s Renewal Energy Roundtable.

Janet has been in the financial industry for over 25 years and
currently serves as an associate vice president, portfolio manager, financial advisor and founding partner of the Relationship Group at Morgan Stanley in Palm Desert, CA.
Janet graduated with honors with a BS in Management and a minor in Economics at Rutgers University in 1999. A Coachella Valley resident since 2001, she enjoys debating, the desert, fitness and hiking, bringing orchids back to life after flowering, and she has a love for learning. Her joys are spending time with her life partner and wife of 38 years, Lenore Davis, and their two dogs, Puddin and Litabita-Biskit.
