trio of Mark Seymour, Jennifer Seymour and Patrick Volkert who co-own Hunters Palm Springs. The business partners are recognized for having a positive impact in the region through the support they have provided to community organizations and fundraising efforts large and small.

Starting in 1982 with his first club, Hunters Chicago located in Elk Grove Illinois,

Mark Hunter has been an entrepreneur and nightclub owner for over 31 years. After many years of success in the suburbs of Chicago he decided to open a second location in Palm Springs California in 1998 and then a third location in Ft. Lauderdale Florida in 2013.

Mark has been involved with several community programs and organizations

such as Desert AIDS Project (DAP), AIDS Assistance Project (AAP), Orphan Pet Oasis, The LGBT Community Center of the Desert (the Center) and his favorite Les Dames Du Soleil, a drag comedy troupe based in Palm Springs. His involvement earned him several awards including Businessman of the Year from the Desert Business Association and the Steve Chase Humanitarian Warner Engdahl Community Service Award.

Patrick Volkert is guided in life by hard work, determination and doing what he

can to benefit those in need. He started out early in life training horses, and helping foals with difficult birth. He also worked closely with man’s best friend sometimes comforting sick, homeless and needy dogs in a shelter.

As part of the Hunters family he has helped raise much needed funds and support for many community organizations, causes,

and projects that benefit the greater Palm Springs area. In the Chicago area, he has helped many organizations including the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the Alzheimer’s Association, the Center on Halsted and Chicago House.

Currently Patrick is over-seeing a remodeling project at Hunters Fort Lauderdale that will better serve the LGBTQ community

through improved entertainment, traffic flow, and customer service for future community events. Patrick has been happily partnered with Mark Hunter, the love of his life for the last 10 years

After graduating from Clarkson University with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Toxicology in 1992, Jennifer Seymour made her way to Palm Springs via career stops in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles and arrived in the Coachella Valley in 1999. She purchased the Tomboyz restaurant on Arenas Road in 2000 and served great food in a comfortable atmosphere. When she became the general manager of Hunters Palm Springs in 2005 she sold the restaurant.

Jennifer is guided by the goal to support a motivated group of employees and position Hunters as a socially responsible leader in the community. Hunters’ staff is involved with various charitable initiatives throughout the year and they are members of softball, bowling and golf leagues. The Hunters team created the annual Orphan Pet Oasis charity golf tournament that was held for eight years and raised over $50,000 for the Humane Society of the Desert.

Jennifer oversees Hunters involvement and support of many charity organizations like the HRC, DAP, AAP, American Cancer

Society, Shelter from the Storm, Palm Springs Pride, Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast and the Center. Hunters dedication to charitable causes includes annual events such as International Bear Convergence, Gay Rodeo, Guns and Hoses, Gay Pilots Association, the Winter Classic Softball Tournament, Dining Out for Life, Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards and the Evening Under the Stars.

Working with her uncles and a very special Hunters crew has been the most fulfilling part of her career. Mark, Patrick and

Jennifer are honored and very excited to be recognized by Greater Palm Springs Pride as Community Grand Marshals and will continue their support of the LGBTQ community in the years ahead.
