The new ‘CH&Co’ Group: TV’s Alastair Stewart interviews the Chairman & CEO behind the biggest contract catering story of 2015, at an Arena event at newly-refurbished Lambeth Palace


At Arena’s ‘Face2Face’ Interview & Lunch on 30 September, ITN’s veteran anchorman Alastair Stewart OBE delved into what is arguably the biggest story in contract catering this year, as he interviewed the personalities behind the formation of the new catering business CH&Co Group – Tim Jones, chairman, and Bill Toner, group CEO.


The contract catering sector was shaken up on 1st June when the merger was announced (see panel, p6). As the industry continues to watch the new CH&Co Group closely, Stewart put Tim Jones and Bill Toner through their paces to get to the crux of the important issues.


A Palatial new venue


The event’s previous venue, the Dorchester, was changed for this year’s event to the impressive and historic setting of Lambeth Palace in its glorious 10 acres of ‘hidden’ gardens, the largest private gardens in central London.


Arena director Lorraine Wood introduced the event to the audience of industry leaders by saying that Arena was the first organisation to host an event in the renovated Great Hall (left) here at Lambeth Palace. She then introduced veteran TV anchorman Alastair Stewart of ITN, who has worked with Arena for 14 years and who today would interview both of the top players in what must be the biggest story in catering this year.
