The news came as Michelin revealed its new 2016 Michelin guide. With 15 new one stars and two new two stars awarded across the UK. The new two star restaurants are both Japanese, Araki and Umu.


Whilst London’s new one star restaurants include Lyles, Bonhams, Portland and the Dining Room at the Goring. In Ireland, four restaurants including the OX in Belfast have received stars as well as The Cellar in Scotland.


Bookatable is also the booking portal behind the Michelin app. Michelin star dining now accounts for almost a quarter (24 per cent) of Bookatable’s bookings with the restaurant platform delivering over 395,000 covers to Michelin star restaurants each year.

Michelin dining is growing . . .


Restaurant booking platform Bookatable has revealed an 80% increase in the number of bookings made to its Michelin star restaurants since 2013. 2014 to 2015 saw the biggest jump in bookings - some 50% year on year - painting a buoyant picture of the fine dining restaurant market.
