Viewing Life Through Another’s Eyes by Gabriel A. Fraire ~

Healdsburg, CA. ~ It was the same parents pretty much do- ing the same thing and these two different ba- bies are born. And as they grow they continue to show and develop their differences.
If you exam- ined the two years prior to each of our daughter’s births and charted the information and matched the graphs, plotted the curves and studied
the results, you could maybe come up with a plausible theory as to how the parents’ differ- ent life patterns at set times ac- counted for the variance in the two children. But I doubt it. Two folks can look at the same cloud pattern and see different things. So, two children should be different. Neither better or worse, just different.
Perhaps if we all tried with any human to see issues from the other’s perspective there would be less squabbling and more constructive results.
Perhaps if we remembered that our children are people to be re-

spected as equals there would be better parent-child relationships. Life is a complex set of situ- ations, especially if others happen to hold an oppo- site opinion on an issue of extreme importance, and especially if those others are two years old. Trying to be like others, to walk in their shoes, to see the issue from their side is very important and
helps to bring people closer to- gether. This can be an extremely important tool in dealing with any diffi cult issue. And, what more diffi cult issues do we face than the issue of rearing our children.

I just got back from Utica, NY, where my coworker, Linda Burns, and I went to a trade show. We work at Casini Ranch
Family Campground, and went on a buying trip in preparation of the coming busy season. Attached is a photo of the three of us (Linda, me, and the paper) in front of the Wilcor warehouse. Wilcor International is a distributor of over 6000 outdoor prod- ucts & more to retail businesses. They are located in Frankfort, NY. Thanks for a fun paper! My coworker hadn’t ever read it. If you have anyone that delivers in the river area, we’d love to have some dropped off at the campground for our guests to enjoy! ~Sharon Kennedy
