Getting your finances in check is a good resolution for anyone, but especially for women because re- search has proven that women are not as finan- cially literate as men.


4. Be Active


This year, stand up for a cause you really care about. It’s empowering to make a difference in the world by donating your time or money to some- thing you are passionate about.

Help pave the way for a future full of fierce females by mentoring a woman or girl in your life. Take the new women at work under your wing or check out a youth organization to find a girl to mentor.

5. Live Healthy


Let’s stop making resolu- tions to lose weight and instead get healthy. Eat more fruits, vegetables and lean protein. Make healthy snacking choices and stay hydrated.


6. Shatter Gender Stereotypes


If you take a listen, gender stereotypes are all around us. Make a point this year to make sure you use fe- male pronouns when speaking and integrate women into phrases that are typically male. For ex- ample, instead of saying “man up” tell someone to “woman up” or say “woman power” instead of “man power.”

For so many people, the word ‘feminist’ has so many negative connota- tions. People picture bra burning, man hating, ag- gressive women. Well, turns out being a feminist means believing in equality. That’s it, so embrace the word and don’t be afraid to call your- self a feminist.

Traditionally women learn to be nurturers and take care of everyone around them. Well this year,make sure to put yourself first. Take time every day (even if it’s just 5 minutes) for you
