JULIO DE LAFFITTE – Larger than life, passionate Interviewed by

Elizabeth Jewell Stephens

IT WAS MY ENORMOUS HONOUR to meet Julio De Laffitte recently. He’s a man with a big heart and a big dream for Australians. He is inspiring, passionate, and a man who makes things happen. He’s also a highly successful businessman who is very spiritual and wants to make a difference. Here’s a fascinating story to illustrate some of these attributes. It’s actually a love story, but unique, and I’m sure you’ll be entertained if not inspired. Julio, Brazilian by birth, came to

Australia 24 years ago because of roast beef for dinner – and a woman. Yes, the Universe works in wonderful ways. One night in Rio de Janeiro Julio’s

mother planned roast beef for dinner. Julio, not in the mood for beef, rang his friend and suggested he accompany him with his grandfather to a Rotary meeting because they served a great buffet dinner. At dinner they saw a beautiful girl standing by herself. Julio went up and made a pass at her – in Portuguese. It turned out that the girl spoke only English, and Julio had flunked English at school – and believed he was no good at languages. His friend, however, could speak English and Julio instructed him to say to the girl that he would pick her up at 7pm the next night at her place. She looked him up and down and gave him her phone number. They began a love affair and, with a strong enough incentive, he suddenly found he had a flare for language after all. The story doesn’t end there. He asked

the girl to be his girlfriend but she would not commit because her tenure as a Rotary exchange student was nearing its end. A couple of weeks before she was due to fly back to her hometown of Cairns Julio just disappeared out of her life. She was desperate to find him but no-one would or could tell her how to get in touch with him. To cut to the punch line, when she stepped off the plane in Cairns, there he was to greet her.

It’s now fair to say that he has created

security and even fortunes for many Australians from all walks of life. Had I met him several real estate decisions ago, and worked with his system, I would be able to do even better work these days, as I’d have many more resources at my disposal. I don’t want you to think that this is

Wow! How romantic, but also how

passionate, inspiring and creative – what a solution! And it appears that he’s been applying those attribute to his life and business ever since then. After saving lots and working two

jobs he sort of fell into buying an investment property in Cairns. Of course, my readers will understand it was a synchronous experience coupled with effort. His investment led to his learning

about Australian tax laws and investing more money in real estate. His enthusiasm and drive led him to undertake another Commerce Degree (he already had one from Brazil) and he learnt so much that he began consulting in financial planning. He has a passion to change ordinary

people’s lives by awakening them from what he calls mass hypnosis about the way that life is meant to be. He says we are all hypnotised into thinking that the physical life is about getting a good education to get a good job, finding a partner, buying a house, having children, working all our lives to pay off the mortgage and, if we are lucky, having a little left over when we retire so that we can live a modestly comfortable life. He has a wealth of stories about lives

he’s changed – ordinary people with a mortgage and an ordinary job – and he has a system for helping them to take the next step in this, holding your hand all the way.

a promotion about a financial advisor per se. I want to introduce you, as a LivingNow reader, to this phenomenal man who offers something very different from the usual financial advisor. He has so many checks and balances in his system that it is almost foolproof – and indeed is watertight if real estate prices keep rising, which they seem to have done forever. He even makes provision for you to cover contingencies like being unemployed for a while or your tenants moving out. As Julio said, “Give an asshole a lot

of money and s/he becomes a bigger asshole, but give a kind person a lot of money and s/he has the power to change the world.” It is my fervent desire that many of my

readers will see the potential in this idea – you are kind people doing good things and serving to the best of your abilities. What if your abilities were magnified by more financial ease? Please come along and listen to Julio. Even if you have no money or no equity in a house – it will help you plan for the future to get to this point, and, if you were entertained by the story of his migration to Australia, you will be entertained by the whole event as this man has a wealth of stories as well as just wealth – and he is a giant of kindness. He runs a one-day seminar where he

teaches people about wealth generally and how to apply his ideas to growing their own nest eggs. There are upcoming Perth and Brisbane ones, and after that we are looking at the 2014 schedule to cover the other states as well. You will find details at www.nowfasttrack.com
