Scalextric revs up with Fast & Furious franchise


East Coast Nursery gets cosy with Tiny Tatty Teddy


CPLG, licensing agent for Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious fi lm franchise, has announced a new agreement with Hornby Hobbies that will see a range of Scalextric slot cars based on vehicles from the fi lms. The new deal will allow fans to race slot car versions of their favourite vehicles from the fi lm franchise. The slot cars will be available internationally from May 2013. The licensing agreement was made through Universal Partnerships and Licensing. Paul Chandler, marketing manager at Hornby Hobbies, said:


“The Fast & Furious fi lms are known for their impressive range of cars and the characters’ racing skills. We are looking forward to providing fans the opportunity to take their own piece of the action home to recreate the fast-paced races in their front room.”


East Coast Nursery has added Tiny Tatty Teddy, by the Carte Blanche Group, to its licensing portfolio. The licence will cover a nursery range featuring the bear, which is expected to launch in stores from Autumn 2013. This latest agreement sees the Tiny Tatty Teddy brand expanding to cover the whole nursery offering. Eric White, CEO of East Coast Nursery, said: “We


are delighted to be working with Carte Blanche on this licence opportunity. Tiny Tatty Teddy has a huge and very loyal fan base. The brand is well known and loved across the gift, clothing and toy categories and we see a fantastic opportunity to create a nursery range with an instantly recognisable character that creates an emotional connection with mums.”

Mask-arade has secured the offi cial licences for the One Direction and Moshi Monsters properties. These new licences follow other new additions to the portfolio including EastEnders, Coronation Street, Thunderbirds, Only Fools and Horses, Strictly Come Dancing, Dennis the Menace and Gnasher, and Marilyn Monroe. Each mask is made from high- quality, durable card, and comes with eye holes and an elastic strap. Ray Duffy, Mask-arade’s licensing director, said: “This year we are more prepared than


Vivid has reported that the launch of Moshlings Series 4 doubled in sales from Series 3, and the company’s viral/PR campaigns ensured it was a sell-out success in the fi rst few weeks of launch. Nick Thomas, commercial director of Vivid, said: “We ensured stock was allocated across the board for this series launch. Almost Naked Animals renewed by CiTV UK


9 Story Entertainment has announced that CiTV UK has renewed the children’s comedy series Almost Naked Animals (52 x 22’) for a third season. The animated series, produced and distributed by 9 Story, was recently nominated for a BAFTA Kids’ Vote Award. 9 Story Entertainment is a creator, producer and distributor of award-winning animated and live-action content for young audiences around the world, with an animation studio based in Toronto.


Chosen as one of People Magazine’s top children’s shows to watch, the series is seen in the US on Cartoon Network and in Canada on YTV and VRAK, in addition to airing on international channels. Almost Naked Animals’ licensing programme includes home entertainment, toys and apparel, an online super game, and an e-commerce store in addition to social networking partnerships.
