SIR PETER BLAKE AT 80! 18th

August - 3rd

CO O MB E gallery

Art. Featuring brand new work alongside highly sought after collectors items, this will prove to be a great exhibition for the serious collector and investor in Sir Peter’s work. Highlights include Found Art: Beatles, which has been secured just for this show, and ‘Vintage Blake’ a modern take on the iconic Sgt Pepper album cover. It features many current social icons from Tim Berners Lee and Amy Winehouse to Kate Moss and Lucien Freud amongst others.

T

Another real coup is that Dartmouth based artist James Stewart has been tasked with painting Sir Peter’s portrait, which will also feature in the show. Sir Peter has long remained an influence on James’s work and this follows close on the heels of recent success for James. He has had a portrait of Sam Waley–Cohen hung at this years prestigious BP portrait awards at the National Portrait Gallery in London.

Other iconic works include a diamond dusted wig portrait of Andy Warhol by Sir Peter and four large silkscreen works on canvas depicting the Butterflyman in Hong Kong.

For a preview of many of the works that will be in the show visit the Coombe Gallery website and see them in all their glory from the 18th August at Coombe Gallery in Foss Street.
