Jessup 2012

a former President of the Nepal Bar Association. Mexican National Rounds

Even with all the successes, a competition of this size is never without difficulties. Because of violence in northern Mexico, the Mexican North Regional was cancelled and the Mexican rounds were restructured as a single competition in to be held in Mexico City. A missing National Ad- ministrator and multiple potential hosts later, the rounds were finally held at Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). Many thanks to na- tional round host ITAM, national round sponsor Curtis, Mallet-Prevost, Colt & Mosle, S.C., and all those who helped bring the 2012 Mexican Nation- al Rounds together.

White & Case International Rounds 40

White & Case, the Jessup International Rounds Sponsor, hosted a spectacular International Rounds in its third year as ILSA’s Global Partner. Af- ter supporting many national competitions around the world, its attorneys came out to volunteer as

judges and attend numerous International Rounds events hosted by the firm. The perennial favorite, the Go National Dress Ball on Thursday night, was again a huge hit this year. Pictures will be avail- able on the White & Case website (http://jessup. whitecase.com/) shortly. The White & Case Judg- es Reception on Monday night, and Competitor’s Reception on Friday night both brought together members of the Jessup community to relax, so- cialize, and make lifelong friendships.

The International Bar Association (IBA) continued its support of ILSA in its second year as a global partner. This year the IBA hosted events bookend- ing the competition. On Monday morning before the first round commenced, the IBA hosted a welcome breakfast for participants. The IBA staff were joined by the IBA’s North American Regional Officer for the Anti-Corruption Committee, James Tillen, who spoke with participants about his ca- reer and how it has been enhanced by his mem- bership in the IBA.

“One thing I’m most grateful to have learnt is that pursuing a career in international law is actually achievable.”
