UK market over the last two years and being at SPATEX was important and successful for us.”

One of the most talked about products at SPATEX was the launch of GeoBubble into the UK and Plastipack’s Peter Adlington voted the launch as a great success saying: “Plastipack Limited's main aim was to support our UK fabricators by offering help, information, samples and marketing support to their trade customers and this we were able to do.” Pat Devaney of Plastica said: “The numbers and the quality of visitors to our stand proved again that this is the must see show for the UK pool industry and general public.” Overseas visitor levels increased significantly and came from 23 different countries. A total of 46% of these visitors were at a senior level; directors or higher. Architects, pool designers and planners also showed an impressive rise in figures of more than 30% up on 2011. Visitors from private health clubs, hotels and leisure complexes also saw an increase in attendance levels. ISPE organised the technical programme of workshops and

demonstrations on behalf of SPATEX and the extended workshop programme attracted good numbers.

ISPE’s Ross Alcock said: “The workshops were, once again, a great success in terms of attendance. With such a wide range of subjects, both new and ‘old favourites’, there was something for everybody at SPATEX 2012. “Many visitors attended more than one session and one or two people were spotted in all sessions on some days, further demonstrating what a useful source of free information the technical programme provides. “There was a good level of interest and whilst numbers were affected by the weather on the Sunday, Saturday’s attendance was up on 2011 and the Monday attendance figures were 60% up on 2011.” For 2012, to further enhance the benefit of the technical programme, SPATEX introduced attendance certificates for workshop delegates with a total of 276 certificates awarded to worthy attendees over the three days – a success that will be carried over to the 2013 event . Paul Webb of Fairlocks Pool Products said: “We are very pleased with SPATEX. Although it’s true to say Sunday was a little quiet due to the weather, overall the show was great. We took an order for 100 Orbit pool cleaners and our new products, Cubeinverter and JetSolar were very well received and a good degree of interest was expressed. It was a no-brainer for Fairlocks to re-book for SPATEX 2013!”

Certikin Marketing Manager Catherine Saunders was impressed with the

increase in promotion leading up to the show: “SPATEX was a great show for Certikin. We showcased many of our new product ranges and were pleased to see so many of our customers there. We noticed a big improvement in the promotion of the 2012 show which introduced several new customers to us – some of whom placed orders on the day.” Stephen Crabb of Catalina Spas said: “This year is our 15th year of supplying the UK pool and Spa industry with one of the finest spa and Swimspa ranges available and we could not have done it without the unique draw SPATEX has to our industry.

“I remember our first SPATEX show where we exhibited the very first Catalina spa it was also the first spa in the UK to be fitted with fibre
