There are a lot of new products coming in from overseas and we are seeing units arrive from all over the world which are less pricey. It’s an important development because consumers will always be price conscious and be concerned about capital outlay. In many cases the payback on a heat pump can be about 18 months,” added Steve.

The Pro-Pac 8 – one of four new models in the new innovative Calorex Pro-Pac ‘X’ range

four separate Zodiac ranges totalling 18 different models, ensuring they can supply a heat pump for almost any pool and season.

HEAT PUMPS SURGE IS CONSUMER DRIVEN SAYS PLASTICA

The HeatSeeker pump is one of the top products for reliability and costs says Plastica – in a market which is now consumer driven.

“It is a strong, efficient and reliable heat pump which is half the price of other lines. I know this might sound trivial but its colour is also important. Most heat pumps are the colour of air conditioning units you see on roofs but the HeatSeeker is a deep green colour which fits in with shrubs in the garden,” adds Steve Smith, Sales Manager.

He said sales of such products at Plastica tend to follow a three year pattern for them to get really established.

“The first year will see the pool trade traditionally cautious of new products. Year two tends to see the trade adopt the products and then in year three it gets a real head of steam. So in 2011 HeatSeeker has been a big seller and we just haven’t been able to keep up with demand. “Yes it will be a long term market and heat pumps are here to stay. They are so efficient.

CALOREX PRO-PAC DEFROST SYSTEM SPECIAL FOR THE UK

The new innovative Calorex Pro-Pac ‘X’ range is on the UK market for the 2012 pool season. Calorex has developed a range of four new heat pumps specifically designed for heating outdoor swimming pools, or swimming pools that benefit from a semi-permanent enclosure to extend the usable period of a normal outdoor swimming pool. The range is designed to provide a single unit selection for virtually all domestic/ small semi-commercial swimming pools.

The range includes Intelligent, electronically controlled defrost that allows the units to operate reliably in air temperatures as low as 5 deg. This new defrost system, which is specifically designed for the UK climate, will minimise the time Pro- Pac units spend on defrost. This will provide Pro- Pac units with

exceptional early and late season performance, which is when most demand is placed on the heat pump.

It includes a touch screen control and utilises latest technologyl. The control enables easy adjustment of the pool water set point temperature and clear symbols show the actual swimming pool water temperature and operational status of the unit.

WATERCO INTRODUCES AQUALFLOW ALONGSIDE ELECTROHEAT RANGES ElectroHeat Subzero heat pumps which extract latent heat from the surrounding air, intensify it and transfer it to your swimming pool are the latest additions to the Waterco range of Canadian made products.

ElectroHeat Subzero heat pumps will heat a pool even when the ambient air temperature is below freezing point.

The Waterco range of heat pumps is manufactured at Waterco Canada and known for quality, reliability and performance. The Aquaflow 65 and 80 new products, again made in Canada, add a new dimension to Waterco’s offering to the specialist trade.

the latest advancement. ElectroHeat produces up to five times more heat energy that the electrical energy it consumes. ElectroHeat heat pumps extract latent heat from the surrounding air, intensify it and transfer it to the swimming pool. Being assembled in-house and at their plant in Canada ensures that the highest quality control measures are followed and only the best components used. That includes top brand scroll compressors for quietness and energy efficiency, corrosion resistant pure grade titanium heat exchangers for greater heat transfer and resistance to corrosion, weatherproof ABS cabinets, extra large evaporators for maximum performance and a self management digital display. spn
