Hydropool will maintain its high profile presence in front of consumers again in 2012, taking its swim spa range to leading exhibitions and shows around the country.

As an alternative to a full sized pool, a swim spa is a great option for people who want the ability to swim at home without losing too much garden area. A swim spa is a small pool equipped with a series of powerful jets on one end, part swimming area, and part hot tub area, depending on the model purchased.
Stephen Crabb at Catalina Spas is buoyant about the market.
“We have seen phenomenal growth in swim spas. I’d suggest we have sold more in the last two months than we did in the previous six months. We are getting container loads of spas delivered and I’d have to say we are finding it difficult to keep up with our swim spas sales. We are doing two a week.
“I think we have got people’s interest because we have come in under the £10,000 level with a spa and that’s very tempting.”
He says there is not a typical swim spa purchaser. “We are getting a lot of interest from health clubs who are interested in putting them in instead of a traditional pool.”
PASSION BRINGS FOUR SWIM SPAS INTO THE UK MARKET
Passion Spas has four swim spas available now for its growing UK dealer network, the latest stage in the rapid progress being made by the Dutch based business.
Passion, which has been operating now for 15 years from Uddel in the Netherlands, launched in the UK over two years ago.
Its success in the UK has given the business confidence to bring over its high quality swim spa range.
There are four Passion Aquatic Turbine products, ranging in price from £10,995 to £18,995.
The Aquatic 1, says the
company: “Has been designed to be the perfect compact swim spa”. “On one side there are two
seats and one ergonomical lounge with a very good massage, on the other side there is the jetstream powered by the four-pump Passion SwimPower System. The advantage of this system is that because the lower jets are more powerful than the upper jets, you will swim more horizontally, which makes the swimming very comfortable.
“It’s a great value for money swim spa.” The £14,995 Aquatic 3 dual-zoned swim spa has been great success in the European market for the last two years.
“The two separated sides can be set to different temperatures which enables you to have – for example – the hot tub side at 37 degrees at the same moment you like the swimming side to be no more than 28 degrees. This cooler temperature enables you to profit fully from the very powerful but adjustable four-pump Passion swim power system.

Hydropool, which now has a new glamorous UK showroom base in Portsmouth, put five swim spas on display as part of its presence at the Earls Court Ideal Home Show from 16 March to 1 April, a record for the show.
“We are in a unique position in the market as we meet so many consumers with the events that we do so we can see there are still very high levels of interest,” adds Jonathan. He said that consumers who weigh up the pros and cons of a swim spa versus a one-piece pool find many more benefits with the swim spa. Jonathan says that swim spas still may be a seasonal product. “Looking at the response we’ve had from the last couple of consumer events, the London Boat Show and the Christmas Ideal Home event the interest slows down in the winter months. We also monitor e-mails, calls and responses from showrooms to get a complete picture.” AquaSport is Hydropool’s entry level swim spa for the person who wants to swim regularly and maintain a high level of fitness. Going through the Hydropool range really reflects the requirements of the swim spa owner.
