make a difference in the lives of young people. He himself took part in many sports activities at a young age starting with Cricket for the Prince of Wales Secondary in the Capital City of Sierra Leone, ran track, and played recreational Tennis and Golf but Soccer he discovered was his passion. Mr. Thomas has also Coached Soccer at different levels starting with the David Allred All year round School Camp in Raleigh North Carolina, then the Hanover High School Team for about 10 years before leaving to Volun- teer in Sierra Leone where it really dawned on him that he could help the development process back in Sierra Leone especially after the protracted War that left the country in shambles and with his own knowledge and skill set he could make a difference. Mr. Thomas then went ahead upon his re- turn to his home in the US and set the mechanisms in place for ‘Kushe Soccer’. Initially he only wanted to send donations of soccer gears and ma- terials back to Africa but a friend convinced him that with Kushe Soccer he could do a whole lot by expanding the scope of the organization. So he also started collecting educational tools as well like laptops and calculators to help those who do not and will never be able to afford any of these ma- chines by donating them to the needy ones of which there are millions. Mr. Thomas collects used laptops amongst many items for his organization and if you are in possession of any that you don’t have a need for please don’t hesitate to contact Mr. Thomas at
info@kushesoccer.org. Mr. Thomas re- furbishes these machines before he send them to Africa, he formats the hard drives and loads them with Ubuntu an Open source Software that is available for free on the internet which also uses less energy than windows based PC’s. The organization has also offered a Scholarship and is in the process of becoming a full fledged charity organization in the meantime Mr. Thomas is hard at work with his team in Pennsylvania collecting his next shipment of donations for the less fortunate in Africa through his Kushe Soccer initiative.
