After weeks of voting by Fans and internal decisions by our Media house we have cut the number of Athletes who will be considered for our African Sports Personality of the Year Award in our Male and Female categories to a total of three(3) in each category of Male and Female athletes. Our Award will be announced on January 28th 2012 on our Website African Sports TV www.africansportstv.com and also on our Magazine African Sports Monthly; www.africansportsmonthly.com as well as in select partner media outlets. Our Choices are based on the accomplishments of the athletes during 2011 Popularity with the fans and an internal panel decision. We have seen all these athletes excelled and triumphed in their fields and deem it worthy that they be anointed as the African Sports Personality of the Year Male & Female In the Female category the following athletes have made the final cut to be


worthy of being declared the African Female Sports Personality of 2011 •


Amantle Montsho (Track & Field) – Botswana • Kirsty Coventry (Swimming) – Zimbabwe • Blessing Okagbare (Track & Field) – Nigeria


On the Male side we considered the following high level, caliber athletes to David Rudisha (Track & Field) – Kenya • Oscar Pistorius (Track& Field) – Zimbabwe


be declared finalists for our Male Version of the Award •


• Yaya Toure (Soccer) – Ivory Coast
