The Waterco ElectroHeat Heat Pump range is the latest advancement. ElectroHeat produces up to five times more heat energy that the electrical energy it consumes. ElectroHeat heat pumps extract latent heat from the surrounding air, intensify it and transfer it to the swimming pool. Being assembled in house and at their plant in Canada ensures that the highest quality control measures are followed and only the best components used. That includes top brand scroll compressors for quietness and energy efficiency, corrosion resistant pure grade titanium heat exchangers for greater heat transfer and resistance to corrosion, weatherproof ABS cabinets, extra large evaporators for maximum performance and a self management digital display.

A PUMP FOR ALL SEASONS

Calorex heat pumps are capable of providing a pool with up to five units of absorbed heat for every one unit paid for.

Calorex is an ISO001 approved company and as market leaders are the first UK manufacturer to earn accreditation under the Microgeneration Certification Scheme for domestic heat pumps. That will allow purchasers the opportunity to benefit from the Renewal Heat Incentive (RHI) energy efficiency scheme to be introduced shortly. The Calorex product portfolio of products is purpose-built for the swimming pool market by the Essex-based business.

The Delta is an environmental control system for home, club and leisure centre indoor swimming pools offering recovered heat energy for pool water and pool hall air as well as fresh air heat pump recovery that is reversible for summertime cooling. The Variheat is a multi-flexible indoor pool modular construction environmental control unit that offers in excess of 3,500 configurations, making it compatible with every plant room layout. The Variheat can be supplied with heat recovery to both air and water, or alternatively air only.

HEATINVERTER MAKES A PROUD CLAIM It is a proud claim from Fairlocks that the company’s Heatinverter Heat Pump is up to six times more energy efficient than other conventional types of heaters which use electricity, gas, or oil. The Heatinverter uses a rectifier to convert the incoming AC current to DC and then uses Pulse-Width Modulation of the DC current within an inverter (electrical) to produce AC current of a desired frequency. The speed of a brushless motor is synchronised to the frequency of the AC current making it possible for the Heatinverter compressor to be run at different speeds. A microcontroller then samples the ambient air temperature and adjusts the speed of the compressor appropriately. The effect of eliminating stop-start cycles is to increase efficiency, extend the life of components, and eliminate sharp fluctuations in the load the air-conditioner places on the power supply. This reduces the demand on the compressor which in turn reduces the running cost and improves efficiency.

HEATSTAR OFFERS HASSLE FREE COMPLIANCE

Heatstar has reaffirmed its help to ensure hassle free compliance with the new 2010 Building Regulations.

At quotation Heatstar will provide an assessment of the applicable building control regulation requirements and a compliance report for the proposed Heatstar system. They will also provide customers with a commissioning requirement statement for the proposed pool room system which can be included within the ‘commissioning plan’ for the whole project.

However, at the heart of Heatstar’s response to the new Building Regulations is a heat recovery ventilation system fully compliant with the new regulations for both domestic and non-domestic pools – the new Phoenix EC.

This Phoenix EC unit offers ultra high heat recovery efficiency from its ‘dual/combined/hybrid’ system.

The combined effect of the dehumidification

heat pump heat collection coil and the plate heat recuperator enables very high heat recovery efficiency on any introduced fresh air. At an ambient air temperature of 20°C the system can deliver an efficiency of over 140%. It is the permanent operation of the air-fan motor which results in the highest energy consumption. Therefore, the Phoenix EC employs a very special type of digital fan, to offer the best possible energy efficiency and so, the lowest operating cost of any such system. spn
