Te Athenaeum in London, has unveiled its new-look spa following an overhaul led by interior designer Paul Faulkner. An enlarged treatment room, a wet area
and a relaxation room are among the new facilities at the Mayfair hotel’s spa, which is open to guests and visitors. Te Athenaeum has also announced a
partnership with skin care brand REN to create bespoke treatments, which include the Moroccon Rose Ritual – inspired by shiatsu and naturopathy.
Barceló launches new Buxton spa facility

Spain-based hotel operator Barceló Hotels and Resorts has unveiled its new look beauty spa at Barceló Buxton Palace Hotel in Buxton, Derbyshire. Te hotel’s existing spa has been rede-
signed and redeveloped and now includes two double treatment rooms, two single treatment rooms, a waiting area, a Decléor retail area and a relaxation room. Te historic Barceló Buxton Palace Hotel
dates back more than 140 years and boasts 122 bedrooms and suites.

UK-based product house Elemis and spa operator Bannatyne Group have signed a new agreement which will see Elemis prod- ucts being used at Bannatyne spas for the next three years. Te new deal follows on from a five-year
deal that was signed in 2005. Noella Gabriel, director of UK sales at
Elemis, said: “Elemis and Bannatyne have a very similar energy and business integrity and this is why we work so well together.”

New spa for Lancashire leisure centre peTe haymaN
Hyndburn Leisure Trust (HLT) has announced that a new health spa is to open at Mercer Hall Leisure Centre in Great Harwood, Lancashire. Due to open on 17 January,
the new spa – funded by Hyndburn Borough Council – will offer guests an “all-in- one relaxation experience”. Facilities will include a
glass-fronted steamroom; a Swedish sauna; a 78sq m (840sq ſt) relaxation area and a monsoon shower. New male and female changing areas will also be included at the new spa, which will be available to members and casual users. Te new facility will complement Mercer
