The city has changed significantly in recent years and the transformation of the city centre, riverside and coalfield areas has been striking. Sport has a high profile including recent developments such as the Sunderland Aquatic Centre, Silksworth and Hetton Community Pools and a major investment programme in play, with 28 new sites and a city Adventure Centre.
Elemore Golf Course was established in the 1990’s approximately mid- way between Sunderland and Durham and is an attractive 18 hole course with associated clubhouse and parking.
The course provides the only opportunity to access a public pay & play golf course in Sunderland and the clubhouse currently offers a licensed bar and lounge area, open daily from 10am and serving bar food, male and female changing areas, a small pro-shop and parking for approximately 60 cars.
Parties who wish to be considered will be sent a detailed specification and will be required to complete a formal submission and questionnaire, which must be returned by Friday 25 February 2011.
The successful company will be required to demonstrate that it has a sustainable business model for the course which meets the required objectives and provides the Council with a no cost or income generating service.
