Bournemouth Borough Council (BBC) has submitted its plans to reduce the height of the Waterfront building and create a new rooſtop terrace. It follows the council’s decision to pursue


an interim scheme for the property, which aims to stimulate interest in the future development of a new leisure attraction. In line with BBC’s planning brief, the


back of the property will be less than half the existing height to provide clearer views of the Purbeck hills from Bath Hill.


Delancey completes Blade portfolio acquisition

Investment advisor Delancey has acquired the Propinvest Group’s Blade portfolio, which boasts a number of leisure assets. Te group teamed up with Royal Bank


of Scotland on the deal, which includes Newcastle’s Gate Leisure Centre - compris- ing a 12-screen cinema and a casino. Total Fitness clubs in Bootle, Whitefield


and Huddersfield and the East Kilbride Shopping Centre – including a cinema and ice rink – have also changed hands as part of Delancey’s acquisition.


Further legal challenge to Preston development

A multi-million pound regeneration scheme in the centre of Preston is to face a further legal challenge from Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council (BDBC). Te mixed-use Tithebarn development


was approved by communities secretary Eric Pickles in November following the conclusion of a public inquiry. Preston City Council, which is working


alongside developer Lend Lease on the scheme, has expressed disappointment at BDBC’s decision to contest the ruling.

them partnerships – which will be invited to submit detailed proposals to the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) include Galliard Homes; Wellcome Trust; and Delancey and Qatari Diar. Dorrington and Pinnacle

Morgan; London and Stamford Property, David Wilson and Sir Robert McAlpine; and the William Pears Group and Urban Splash have also been shortlisted and will be sent detailed information, allowing them to submit formal offers in the spring.


Nine bidders are in the running to take over London’s Olympic Village David Higgins, chief executive of the ODA,


said: “Securing a shortlist with many of the leading property investors and managers both in the UK and around the world takes us an important step towards ensuring the Olympic Village becomes one of the strongest legacies from the Games.”
