Mike’s hobbies include sailing (he has been the Dinghy Secretary Infantry Sailing Association for the past four years), skiing (he qualified as a Joint Service Ski Instructor Alpine and trained the 3 CHESHIRE ski team for Ex Spartan Hike) and Hockey (he was selected for the Infantry Team in his youth,

was the 5 Division Hockey Secretary for five years, and he still plays for the Warminster Garrison team!). He has now returned to the MOD fold to fill a C2 MSF appointment within Operations Branch of DTE. Mike is married to Pamela who is a Counselling Psychologist (MSc) and is currently a lecturer at Wiltshire College and a Counsellor for Wiltshire Relate. They have a teenage daughter, Claire, who was adopted from a Chinese Orphanage.


Capt M J J Leamy


Mark left the Army on 15 July 2009 to become a pilot. He was commissioned from the ranks having originally joined


The Princess of Wales’s Royal Regiment; he joined 1st Battalion The 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment on 17 December 2005. He served as a Platoon Commander with A Company and then moved to C Company where he was the second-in-command.

Mark left the Army on 1 August 2009. Commissioned from the ranks having originally joined The Army Air Corps, he joined 1st Battalion The 22nd (Cheshire) Regiment serving as a Platoon Commander with C Company before moving to Support Company where he was OC Mortar Platoon. He is transferring to the Australian Army.
