Tech overload

The UB team has been busy this month atending the UK’s largest education technology event.

Now in its 31st year, Bet still atracts thousands of teachers, schoolchildren and exhibitors, and is the perfect opportunity for educational professionals to come together and share ideas. This was my second year at the show, so I had a good idea of its scale, (the 2014 event atracted around 36,000 visitors), but nothing could prepare me for the overwhelming number of products, speeches and ideas that have the potential to transform the education sector. Read my review of the show on page 19. So, it seems very appropriate that in this issue we look at how technology is

UB

changing the way we teach and learn in UK higher education – and beyond. We examine the rise of Small Private Online Courses, (SPOCs) on page 65, and we also take a look at the latest design and technology developments within university libraries on page 31. With ever-advancing technology making

its way into our learning environments, it could be all-change for the sector over the coming months. But, as ever, we’ll be sure to keep you updated with the latest developments. Until next time,
