The Travel Network Group plans to aggressively recruit new members to its Worldchoice and TTA businesses this year following a period of restructuring.


TNG managing director Gary Lewis insisted: “We will not be knocking on anyone’s door. “But if you come to us we can demonstrate the value we give. “We’re going to put our name out there so if people are looking, they know they can speak to us. We will recruit.”

The group’s recently filed annual report for 2013-14 notes the operating environment “continued to be weak” last year and retail performance in outbound travel “slow”. However, it reports the group “outperformed the market”. Looking at the year ahead, it


suggests: “The directors continue to take a conservative view on the market and overall demand.” But the report adds: “The group


remains favourably positioned to profitably grow.”


TNG reported a 6% rise year


on year in head-office revenue to £5.24 million and a small increase in operating profit to just under £745,000 for the 12 months to June 2014. The group’s pre-tax profit fell from £346,000 to just under £252,000. Lewis put the total annual


transaction value of group members at £1.6 billion, evenly split between TTA and Worldchoice. The TTA has 465 members, with
