TaylorMade-The number one driver in golf
T
aylorMade led the way at the recent US PGA Championship claiming the number one driver position with over 35% of the field
playing TaylorMade, with the SLDR Driver taking top spot in the model count. Meanwhile, on this side of the pond, from one
PGA Championship to another, TaylorMade Golf became the number one driver brand played at this year’s Glenmuir PGA Professional Championship at Blairgowrie. This secured 34% of the field, whilst the SLDR drove to the No.1 model with 28 in play (19.4% of the entire field). This is the first year that TaylorMade clinched the
top spot at this tournament. “In a strongly fought field of PGA professionals,
we are hugely proud to see that PGA pros are reaping the benefits of ‘lofting up’ with the low and forward centre of gravity in the SLDR driver,” commented Greg Pearse, marketing director, EMEA. “To become the top driver brand, including the number one model played with SLDR at the PGA Professional Championship is a fantastic achievement.”

Mizuno announces year of innovation with JPX850 M
izuno has announced a new JPX850 line. The line boasts a number of technical and manufacturing firsts for the Japanese manufacturer.
The introduction of Boron within Mizuno’s Grain Flow Forging process
has allowed Mizuno to increase the strength of its Forged material, allowing its R&D team greater design freedom – and ultimately more distance from iron to iron. There is also a re-introduction of Mizuno’s Fast Track sliding weight
system in the JPX850 driver. Having introduced Fast Track back in 2007, Mizuno has proved to be a step ahead of its competitors having introduced
of the smaller headed hybrids and fairway woods. The corrugated effect allows the entire head to flex on impact – delivering an additional energy source to the clubface.
