This month sees the return of the multi-award- winning lunch! show to London’s Business Design Centre
With its focus on new innovations from across the food-to-go sector, this popular two-day event (23-24 September) has garnered a loyal following among thousands of food service buyers and catering managers from across the UK. Since its launch in 2008, the
event has enjoyed significant year-on-year growth in atendance (up 37% since 2012), winning three best trade show awards along the way (including, most recently, the top prize at the Exhibition News Awards in February). For 2014, the show is on track for
its biggest sell-out edition yet. As ever, lunch!’s 300-strong exhibitor line-up is comprehensively eclectic, and filled with a who’s who of companies that will be helping to shape the future of the food-to-go sector over the next 12 months. A host of new products is being
showcased at this month’s event: • With interest in nut buter
alternatives soaring in recent years, new exhibitor Meridian will be sampling its cashew and almond buters and its single-serve 26g jars of peanut buter in both crunchy and smooth variants • Sous-vide specialists Cuisine
Solutions will be demonstrating their ‘precise time and temperature technology’

concept from Phat Pasty Co for this year’s show. The Soup Server (supplied in ambient pouches) provides a nutritious self-serve soup • Award-winning spiced hot

Theatre, meanwhile, is renowned for atracting ‘inspirational’ big names from across the food-to-go and contract catering industry – and this year is no exception. Confirmed speakers include representatives from Starbucks, EAT, Cook & Garcia, Horizons, and the NPD Group – plus Henry Dimbleby, co-founder of healthy food chain Leon, a founding director of the Sustainable Restaurant Association, and co- author of the School Food Plan. Atendees will also hear from
Martin Hambleton, head of procurement and innovation at En Route International, who will present his Buying Masterclass. A former senior buyer at Elior UK, Martin has been a keen supporter of lunch! for years, calling it “the best trade show a buyer can atend”. The show’s free Keynotes, the
popular 30-stand Innovation Zone, the annual British Smoothie Championship (sponsored by Magrini), and the Innovation Challenge Showcase (offering a preview of all the latest new product developments) will all be found on the Upper Feature Level.
