Water at the core for Bridgestone B

ridgestone Golf has put a drop of water at the core of its new range of B-Series golf balls designed to match the varying swing

speeds of average club golfers and elite Tour professionals alike. Its Hydro Core Technology produces 30%

more graduation in the formulation around the inner and outer areas of the core - producing a soſter centre, but a firmer outer region. The result is less spin off the driver face for greater distance and accuracy, allied to a golfer’s swing speed and

ability to compress the ball’s seamless cover. While testing countless different compounds

for the core of its latest family of B-Series premium balls, Bridgestone engineers discovered that a prototype with a drop of water in its core formulation process delivered performance attributes. “Bridgestone was the first ball brand to

recognise that optimising performance based on swing speed improves a golfer’s game,” said Corey Consuegra, Bridgestone’s director of golf

Callaway launches their soſtest ever golf ball C

The new Supersoſt Golf Ball’s ultra low

(38) compression, which promotes low spin to combat hooks and slices, combines with Callaway’s HEX aerodynamics, resulting in straighter, more stable and longer ball flights with no extra effort. A product for the golfer that struggles

for tee shot distance, but still seeks a soſt feel on greenside chips and off the putter face, the Supersoſt’s two-piece composition includes a Trionomer Blend cover, specifically designed to maximise ball speed and optimise distance without compromising feel and control. Dave Bartels, senior director of Golf Ball Research and Development for Callaway, said:

“Supersoſt is engineered with an incredibly soſt core — actually zero on the PGA compression scale. It's easy to make a soſt core, but it's really difficult to make a soſt core that is resilient, and we were able to do that with Supersoſt. As the soſt core is so resilient, it enables us to put a soſt cover on it and still achieve really good ball speeds. The soſt cover is great for feel and control around the green as well. "Supersoſt has a very soſt cover over an extremely soſt core that results in a ball that is only 38

compression points. That’s a full 20 points soſter than HEX Diablo, one of our popular two-piece balls. When it comes to accuracy, Supersoſt may be the best ball on the market. It reduces hooks and slices so more golfers can get more distance and tighter dispersion.” Besides the traditional white colour, Supersoſt is also available in a newly formulated ‘Optical

Yellow’ for greater visibility through the air and on the ground. www.callawaygolf.com

Motocaddy launches Easilock Technology

allaway Golf has launched its soſtest golf ball ever, the Supersoſt, which helps golfers with slower swing speeds put additional yardage on their shots.

M

otocaddy has promised to offer golfers the most convenient and effortless connection system for their cart bags

and trolleys with the introduction of Easilock technology. The exclusive Easilock system – featured

across all new Motocaddy trolleys and bags this year – is designed to lock the cart bag onto the trolley and remove the need for a lower bag strap. Two holes on the trolley’s bag support are aligned with two pins on the base of all new Motocaddy cart bags ensuring golfers can lock their bag onto the trolley before using the upper bag strap to secure it completely. The two pins on the base of each new trolley

bag are removable, so golfers have the option of taking them off to fit an older Motocaddy trolley or other branded models on the market. The trolleys are also supplied with detachable straps to allow them to be used with non- Easilock bags. “The Easilock technology meets the needs of

modern-day golfers, who we know through research are looking for quicker ways of getting their trolley and bag onto the golf course,” said marketing manager Oliver Churcher. “We’re all familiar with that feeling of having to bend down to secure a lower bag strap, but this new technology removes that problem and we’re proud to be the first brand to offer this feature.” The new range of bags and trolleys will be

available from March onwards. www.motocaddy.com
