nderlining its intent to focus on distribution facilities, ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems - Industrial Door and Docking Solutions division unveiled its new website platform in September. The redesign includes a ‘solutions’ section which details Crawford products and systems and how they fit the needs of distribu- tion and logistics facilities of all natures: covering ambient, cold and sub-zero chains.
The Crawford brand has enjoyed a long and successful association with warehouse and distribution facilities, providing solutions for first, second, third and even fourth party logistics providers across the full spectrum of industries and market sectors. Products can already be found extensively in UK warehouses and dis- tribution facilities but the new inter- active website platform enables visitors to see for themselves how they work in a particular environment.
Addressing specific needs Using pre-set scenarios, the distribu- tion and logistics solutions page aims to address important considerations faced by users with emphasis placed on how strategic combinations and applications of Crawford industrial doors and docking systems can address specific operational needs. NSK improves loading bay safety at Netherlands warehouse

N
SK has chosen Castell’s drive-away prevention system Salvo to protect staff at its warehouse in
Europe and North Africa. Customers include Ford, Volkswagen, Siemens and Bosch.
Salvo has been installed on 12 loading bays, while NSK has also bought four Salvo Club steering wheel
locks to safeguard deliveries made by rigid vehicles. There have been no reported health and safety incidents since Salvo was commissioned at the Tilburg site. Having reversed their vehicle onto the relevant loading bay, drivers install the Salvo SGL lock on the exposed emergency airline coupling, releasing a trapped key.
This key is then inserted and turned in the Salvo
Control Panel (SCP+) on the outside of the bay. An amber beacon illuminates on the inside to indicate that the loading bay is now safe and ready to use. The loader opens the door, trapping the key in the SCP+ outside. While the door remains raised and the key trapped in the control panel, the trailer cannot be moved. In addition, NSK has installed Salvo at its distribution centre in Newark, UK.
