Malcolm Porter Plug and Play


Malcolm Porter is himself an ex-franchise consultant, advising businesses on how to launch and develop a successful network.

A former marketing manager for Motionlab Marketing, Lynne Rawlinson brings an abundance of digital and social marketing experience


to Business Doctors Franchising, as it continues its expansion into the market. Lynne has been entrusted with responsibility of the company’s overall marketing strategy and execution; overseeing the brand, user engagement, events, and providing marketing support for the growing network. John Taplin The Franchising Centre


The Franchising Centre continues to add to its team of highly experienced franchise professionals and has been joined by three new consultants.


Brian Hewitt and Steve Tabard have joined the franchise development team to cover East Anglia and the South respectively – both have wide franchising experience and a wealth of knowledge. John Taplin, who has run and sold his own successful franchisor business, is to head up delivery of the company’s new ‘value builder’ service, which helps franchisors increase profi ts and prepare their business for sale. John is perfectly placed to help franchisors achieve their goals in this area.


The bfa has announced its new business development manager as Emily Embra, who has come full circle, having previously worked for


the bfa several years ago. With responsibility for member recruitment, retention and engagement, Emily brings with her a multitude of business skills gained from previous roles with Barclaycard and healthcare software supplier iSoft. Emily said: “It’s great to be back at the bfa! I’m looking forward to the challenge of increasing membership numbers and maximising current members’ benefi ts. With the economy showing early signs of the green shoots of recovery, it’s an exciting time and I can’t wait to get going, meeting new businesses and hearing their stories – I am looking forward to helping them expand and succeed through ethical franchising, which has so much to offer to UK businesses.”


Kerry Bhella Burger King


Kerry Bhella has been appointed as the new franchise business leader in the Burger King North West Europe division. Previously, Kerry held positions at The


British Franchise Association and Camping and Caravanning Club. Kerry also holds the Qualifi ed Franchise Professional qualifi cation, and was one of the fi rst to gain this recognition. Kerry has more than seven years of experience in business development, franchise recruitment and development, as well as sales and marketing strategy. She will be responsible for liaising with franchisees regarding business and operations, helping to improve their profi tability and operating performance.
