Case study: Tax savings for Costa Coffee A client with a regional chain of coffee shops (under a franchise from a multi-national group) was looking to signifi cantly expand their network. Each fi t-out had to be carried out to meet brand-specifi c requirements averaging cost of £120,000. By working with approved contractors and visiting outlets, we were able to
identify costs that qualify for tax allowances to set against profi ts. Our expert team were able to claim for trade-specifi c expenditure that would not generally be identifi ed as qualifying and successfully included approximately 80 per cent of the overall fi t-out costs in the claim. This client saved in the region of £160,000 in tax as a result of the exercise.
