INMAN SAN FRANCISCO | 47 Tech we need to know

A week in San Francisco. An event where you will be blown away by the really useful, practical content. An event from which, if you have a beating heart, you will emerge inspired and energised. A place where you can meet nearly 2000 US realtors looking for people to introduce buyers to them, and those interested in getting into the sale of overseas property. Tax deductible. No brainer? We think so. See you there!

his is an event with a pedigree. Now in its 17th year and produced by Brad Inman of Inman News, this conference and its band of ultra loyal supporters just grows and grows. Be warned: if you attend this event you are likely to get hooked. I suspect this is because it has focus and oozes practical, common sense advice about fi nding success in

“You will be talking about technology and ideas way before they become mainstream”

today’s ever-changing climate. This is also a huge event. Inman Real Estate Connect in New York attracted about 2,000 delegates. Many of them were the real movers and shakers in the US real estate industry. As its advertising proclaimed, “If you are an industry leader, or you just want to rub elbows with them, you’ve got to be at Real Estate Connect.” Its focus is on the sensible use of new technology to solve problems,

improve your service delivery and increase profi t. However, it covers much more than that. As Brad says: “The world is moving faster than ever. Change is relentless and far reaching. Real Estate Connect® SF will position you to take advantage of the change that is happening around us. “Lock in your front-row seat to the

trends that will shape our world and business: robotics, crowd-funding, big data, and machine learning, to name a few.” Now, Inman Connect is, without

doubt, US focused but for many international agents this is a huge bonus. You will be talking about technology and ideas way before they become mainstream where you live and, as a foreign real estate agent, you will have the almost undivided attention of agents who really want to meet you and really want to sell product to your clients. Just occasionally, you might also

fi nd one wishing to branch out into the sale of property in another country but, if that’s what you are looking for, this is probably not the best place to be.

Apart from the opportunity to learn

– and learn a lot – in a short period, Inman connect is a magnifi cent networking opportunity where most of the people attending will be new to you. A lot of deals were done in New York. In the words of Brad: “Industry insiders come to Real Estate Connect to learn best practices, forge partnerships and make deals that will

keep them ahead of the competition.” So if you have an open mind and

you want to learn more about the future of this industry, be there. To make that easier, we have arranged a special deal with Brad. If you are an OPP reader who has not previously been to an Inman Connect event, he will give you a special price.
